Ever since its appearance in the Hands of Cloud, in the Final Fantasy VII video game, the Buster Sword has been an icon of anime and anime video games. It's ridiculously impractical size made it almost impossible to recreate in real life (in a high-carbon, full tang version, anyway). But thanks to Alejandro Calas, Strongblade's lead weapon designer, the Buster sword is now available here for the first time.

This sword is only available on Strongblade.com. It is a limited edition Buster sword, made from the finiest High Carbon steel. This is not a toy sword. It is a real sword, not sharpened, but otherwise a very real, very strong, very heavy sword. It features a leather-wrapped wood grip and a lathed metal pommel. Unlike other Buster swords, the Maelstrom comes with its own sheath. The sheath is made from fine, double-stitched leather with a back-strap and holes carved out of the front panel. The holes are designed to show small half-moon portions of the blade when it is tucked away.

The sword is fairly heavy, about 12 pounds, but is balanced fairly well for such a juggernaught, thanks in part to the solid steel pommel. When in its sheath, the sword hangs nicely, its weight dispersed along the length of the belt. This item has just passed prototype stage and is now finally available for sale. We have very limited quantities at the moment, so if you want one, order quickly.

Did you know that Strongblade sells tempered swords and non-tempered swords? The tempered swords are heat treated to have a harder surface yet retain a more elastic inner core than non-tempered swords.
