Ever seen a suit of full plate armor? Ever wondered how the heck someone could get hurt while wearing one? Then wonder no more. Strongblade presents the war hammer. A seemingly magical weapon capable of killing without even breaking through armor.

The war hammer was a knight killer. The small, heavy head could demolish just about anything it hit. Full plate armor was sometimes the exception, but the beauty of the war hammer was that it didn’t have to get through armor to be effective. The shear force of the blow would travel through the plate and into the unfortunate target beneath. Of course, the narrow head on the hammer, and especially the spike on the backside of the head, could easily puncture chain mail and leather.

This hammer is an exact replica of several ancient war hammers unearthed in Germany. The high-carbon head of the hammer features a flanged, crown-shaped striker and a fluted back spike that curves downward slightly. The red-hued hardwood handle has steel plates riveted to both sides giving the weapon strength and a rugged, utilitarian look to it.

This is a perfect weapon for costumes as it is small enough to not be uncomfortable to carry but striking enough (puns puns) to draw attention. Also great as a secondary weapon and a marvelous conversation piece in any room.
