The true Japanese name for this sword would be:
"The rage that is hidden." (I think that's what it says. Although come to think of it, that might say "Objects in the mirror of this Toyota are closer than they appear" I was looking at my Corolla manual online while doing this and I may have pasted the wrong thing. So be it.)
Either way, it's truly a special sword. Hidden in the scabbard is a miniature tanto knife (Kogatana), the handle jutting out on either side of the tsuba -- hidden in plain site as it were.
The imagination rolls endlessly when you think about the possible uses a samurai might have had for such swords. Thrown or used in hand, these would have been lethal when wielded by a samurai. The dark Ninjas may well have had a use for such a sword too.
