This is a handsome, hand-crafted reproduction of a knight's hand-and-a-half bastard sword. These swords were used for moderate combat conditions by knights. Primarily a slashing sword, this bastard sword could also have been used for thrusting into visors or gaps in opponents' armor.The sword features a leather-wrapped waisted-grip for easy hand positioning.
A perfect sword for sparring (under sanctioned conditions wearing the proper safety equipment), this bastard sword can stand up to just about anything you can dish out.

Good product
A really good blade overall, more rugged than anything. The tang and the decorative leathers I replaced on my sword, which is recommend doing, but overall it's a good weapon, tempered in between 50-55 RCW.

tempered medeival bastard sword
nice bastard sword the overall length with scabble is 48&1/4",without the seath 46&1/4" the blade length up to leather pice under guard is 35&5/8" the grip is 7&1/2" with the promal it is 9&3/4" the promal is fairly heavy it's 2&1/8" long and 1" wide,the guard is 11" lomg balance is 1&7/8" from leather pice below the guard which is 2" long.Cuts well cut mats,various water bottles with out any trouble.My scale wasn't working so couldn't weight it.I really like the grip and promal everthing about this sword is great.There in not any oyher sight that offer's this style of sword except albion which is over 1,000 so if you like this style and want a sword styled like this it's a very good deal.Great customer service.Ray Blundell
