Nothing is more inconspicuous than a good hooded cloak. I, myself, wear one every time I visit that ‘adult bookstore’ downtown, and people don’t even look at me (come to think of it, people tend to actually avoid me altogether).

There are many types of cloaks. The hooded cloak, the noble cloak, the Cloak of Elvenkind, and the Cuckoo Cloak. Oh, and if you listen carefully at night, you can sometimes hear the frog’s cloak. I have obviously failed to study hard enough for this description, so I will get to the meat of it and spare you any more intelligence-draining stupidity from my cottage cheese brain.

This full-length twill cloak is the very essence of medieval fantasy cloaks. It is cut from a full circle of fabric and features a double-layer of cotton-twill. This double layer simulates wool, keeping in the heat while letting out the body’s moisture (I found out the hard way that this does not mean you pee through the cloak. Fortunately, the cloak is machine washable).

A really cool thing about this cloak is that it comes with a FREE, hand-made cloak pin. That’s right, a sweet $10 cloak pin comes absolutely free with this cloak. Another really cool thing is that the cloak is reversible, so you can wear it as a black cloak with colored lining, or a colored cloak with black lining – you choose the color (and it can be any color whatsoever as long as it’s one of these: Hunter Green, Navy or Burgundy).

One size fits all with this cloak. And we mean that. Even the very large or the very small can wear it.

The flintlock pistol was the greatest advance in pirating since the wooden leg. The concept was fairly simple: gunpowder was stuffed into the barrel. A lead ball, usually wrapped in some sort of fabric, was stuffed in. A hammer was then pulled back half-way and left that way until the gun was ready to fire. The pistol technically was not meant to fire in this position, although sometimes they were known to go off half-cocked (and yes, that is the origin of that expression). When the gun was ready to be fired, the hammer was pulled back all the way and the trigger was squeezed.
