Boromir, son of Denthor, was perhaps the strongest swordsman in Gondor, and that's saying quite a bit in a kingdom of soldiers. It's no surprise that he would have wielded such a powerful sword as this. The sword is the perfect soldier's weapon; wide and wonderfully understated, but crafted with an obsessive attention to detail. Warriors don't want a frilly girl sword, they want a tough looking, heavy hitting, manly sword with personality and dash of style. Come to think of it, that's a rather apt description of Boromir as well. The blade of Boromir's sword is made from 420 J2 stainless steel, with a deep, wide fuller (in this case, the term "bloodgroove" is probably more appropriate) ground into it. The Pommel is a polished steel, antiqued to simulate use; it's hard and heavy, which gives the sword a great balance. The gaurd is made of the same material, but has a stylish twist to it (possibly meant symbolically as a sign of Boromir's inner struggle and turmoil, if we may wax philosophical for a moment). Whatever the reason for this twisting, it's a fantastic element for a fantasy sword and adds to the gritty look of this fierce weapon.The grip of the sword is a ridged leather-wrap, with small studs under the leather for better grip and added "bad-ass" factor.
