There's a pirate in each of us, and right now, he's screaming for this cutlass. The hand-crafted Corsair Pirate Sword features an awesome, embelished swept basket-hilt of nickeled steel,a leather-wrapped wood handle and a short high-carbon steel blade with a lethal curve. This is about as dashing a pirate sword as you can get, especially at this price range. In fact, we've seen this same sword at other shops selling for $200 or more (e-mail us. We'll send you some links if you need proof).
This type of cutlass would have been perfect for ship-based combat: compact enough for fast and worry-free swings, and with enough of a guard to lend strength to parries. The thick blade would have been ideal for hacking bodies, ropes, foilage or that annoying parrot on the captain's shoulder.
The steel basket hilt provides ample hand protection and adds just the right amount of villainy. The punctured hilt allows air to get through, but keeps opponent's blades out. This makes the guard extremely light, but still fantastic as a defensive tool. Not to mention how good it makes the sword look.
The cutlass comes with a curved, leather-wrapped wood scabbard that has steel accents on top and bottom. Hand crafted and damn good looking, this pirate sword is a must have for anyone flying the skull and crossbones. Arrrrrr.
