If you're looking to add a little swagger to your pirate costume, or simply want something a little more artsy to hang by your skull and crossbones flag, then feat yer eyes on this Buccaneer's Cutlass. This masterful sword was crafted in Spain by master Craftsmen and replaces our original Buccaneer Cutlass. It's available in Silver with patterned sheath (shown) or the

Brass version with black sheath.

An incredibly ornate sculpted ship scene adorns the antiqued bell of both of these curved swords. The scene shows a many-masted war galleon slashing through the surging seas, and is complemented by the sword's grip -- an elegantly carved handle of cast metal.
The blade on this weapon is a high-quality, unsharpened metal alloy, which makes it light and easy to swing. It also makes it especially shiny and makes for a sword that can be carried easily for long periods of time, either in hand or on belt.

The stylish sculpting doesn't stop with the basket and grip, though. The collar of the sheath bears a stunning skull and crossbones design, and the tip is etched with a pair of crossed flintlock pistols.

This sword is different from our old Buccaneer Cutlass in several ways. First, the quality is better, as it was made in Spain. The sheath is much more durable and the bell guard has a wonderful bevel to it that gives the weapon a more finished look. The craftsmanship is also visible in the antiqued metal on the bell and the sheath; small striations and beautiful swirls of distress are visible deep in the metal. Lastly, the blade is made from a much higher quality metal that is unsharpened, so safe for all events.

Although this cutlass is not hand-made, it has a unique style and fantastic quality. If you're looking for a pirate weapon and don't care if it's hand-made or not, then this is the best bang for your buck.

Although the term rapier has become synonymous with any narrow-bladed sword (particularly those with fancy hilts), the term rapier actually applied to only a select few types of swords. Rapiers were narrow (usually one and a quarter inches wide), quite long, fairly heavy, and usually had only a slight edge on them.
