Yeah, it’s about time isn’t it? I mean, Batman, Superman, Iron Man, The Hulk, The Watchmen; How many superhero movies have been made lately without Captain America? You’d think at this point in our history, Captain America would have been one of the first superhero movies made. We’ll forgive Marvel and Hollywood for these grievous oversight just as long as the upcoming Captain America movie is as good as or better as all of the other superhero movies that have been made recently.

The new Captain America movie is slated to hit the big screens in 2011, so do yourself a favor and grab this fully-licensed, extremely limited edition, unbelievably high-quality Captain America shield right now. You’ll be able to say you had the shield long before the movie, thereby proving your overall coolness and giving you true comic book street cred. Oh, and there’s also the little fact that only 750 of these particular captain America Shields will ever be made, so we’re certain there won’t be any left when the movie actually comes out, anyway.

The shield is a hand-hammered, lovingly crafted piece of steel artwork. It is painted with the iconic American star and stripes that adorned the most famous of the superhero’s two shields. The craftsmen that forged this shield were allowed to work from the marvel Comics blueprints (yes, Marvel Comics actually has blueprints of all of their major superhero props. And no, there’s nothing weird about that). Because of this, the shield is a perfect copy of the one used by Captain America in the comic books. Well, a perfect steel copy … I mean, the one in the comic book was just inked paper … so … you know, it’s a perfect copy of the way the shield would have … um. Well, you get the point.

The shield is 30 inches in diameter, with the exact curvature and dimensions as the original. It weighs about 12-lbs and is one of the highest quality shields that we sell. The back features leather hand straps that are bolted securely to the body of the shield, as per the blueprints. A very cool-looking U.S. military, crate-style display plaque can be used to hang the shield when it is not in use.

The Japanese katana was often worn paired with another smaller sword or dagger. The shorter sword, called a wazashi (also known alternately as Wakizashi and, occasionally, Fred) measured twelve to twenty-four inches in length. The dagger, a tanto measured six to twelve inches in length. Tonto, from the Lone Ranger, has nothing to do with Asian weapons, but for the record, he was 67 inches long. Strongblade sells lots of katanas. Have a look at our samurai swords.
