The baskethilt is the perfect symbol for the people of Scotland. Both proud and fierce, the Scots were capable of breathtaking craftsmanship and savage combat skills. This baskethilt embodies both of those worlds.

The weapon looks both ornate and deadly. It features a gilded brass-sculpted basket (available in steel-sculpted too!), backed by a supple red velvet. The blade is an 18-gauge high carbon steel that is astonishingly well balanced thanks to the basket. The grip is wood covered in a sturdy stitched leather. A ceremonial red tassle hangs from pommel, making this perfect for highland parades and gatherings. Is also almost a necessity for costumes featuring kilts.

The basket is made from solid brass, with ceremonial perforations along every inch. The blade is, as mentioned, an 18-gauge, high carbon steel that is both durable and authentic. This blade comes with a polished steel scabbard featuring steel rings for easy attachemnet to any belt or baldric.

Did you know that Greek Hoplite soldiers placed their best fighters in the front and back of their formations? The ones in the front were placed there to meet their enemies first and hopefully drive them backward. The ones in the rear were there to make sure none of their fellow soldiers decided to break formation and run. Strongblade has a large selection of Greek swords, Greek Weapons and Greek Armor.
