If you are looking for a sword that has a historic base but with a bit of a fantasy flare, the GothDream is a great choice. Based on the arming sword or war spike design, the SBA-GOTHDREAM also adds style that will make friends and foe take notice. The ornately designed grip consists of two parts. The upper half is wrapped with steel braiding and the lower half is made of contoured black leather. The grip is not only attractive but extremely comfortable. The guard features decorative cutouts that add style to the design while minimizing the overall weight of the sword. The steel pommel counter balances the blade making the sword very well balanced. This is a beautiful sword that is great choice for a first time buyer or a wonderful addition to anyone's collection.

Although the term rapier has become synonymous with any narrow-bladed sword (particularly those with fancy hilts), the term rapier actually applied to only a select few types of swords. Rapiers were narrow (usually one and a quarter inches wide), quite long, fairly heavy, and usually had only a slight edge on them. The extremely long length of the rapiers made them a bit heavy and cumbersome, not at all the Errol Flynn or Zorro-type small-swords that most people think of.
