Yes, this is the real, certified, authentic Master Replicas version of Peter's Sword, complete with certificate of authenticity. Master Replicas has created an exact replica of a sword made by WETA studios and featured in the Chronicles of Narnia movie. That's right, the same people who made all of the Lord of the Rings movie props, and who now have made all of the Chronicles of Narnia props. This sword isn't just similar to their work on the movie... it's an exact replica.

We could start anywhere on this sword, so why not at the top? A roaring lion head sits at the bottom of the hilt, made of high-quality, solid brass. The lion's head is meant to represent Aslan the Lion, one of the key characters in the Chronicles (but you already knew that, didn't you?).

Working our way downward, the grip of the sword is wood, wrapped in a textured, rich burgandy leather. Detailed rings turn the grip into somewhat of a waisted hilt. A gold-plated cast metal cross spans elegantly from the grip and a similar gold-plated, rectangular cusp juts out powerfully from the midpoint of the cross.

Now we're coming to the meat of it, boys and girls. The blade on this sword... and I salivate as I write this ... is made of high-carbon steel. About as authentic as you can get. Acid-etched beautifully on the blade of this work of art, in gold no less, is a kick-butt slogan meant to inspire allies and terrorize the winterland enemies of Narnia: "When Aslan Bears His Teeth, Winter Meets its Death." Majestic gold-colored patterns swirl around and parallel to the text. The text is not just plopped on either -- it is designed and stylized to add to the beauty of the sword: The geniuses at WETA did a wonderful job adding life to the quote.

The sword comes with an elegant mounting plaque that, again, goes above and beyond the normal screenprinted wood plaque. It has amazingly intricate designs on it and has a thick frame around all sides
