Product Description
This is a replica of a Viking bearded axe. The bearded axe has a blade with a long heel that hangs down. This bit of blade gives the wielder a greater cutting surface, but, more importantly, it provides a great hook. In battle the hook was used to catch the edge of an opponents shield allowing it to be pulled away exposing the opponent to a strike with a sword or axe in the other hand.
This bearded axe has carbon steel battle ready axe head. The hardwood handle fits comfortably in the hand and the size, weight and balance make it a perfect for wielding with one hand.Product Details

Bearded Axe
I ordered 3 bearded viking axes. They look amazing from handle to head. Beautiful wood that is nicely finished and a solid usable bearded head with a mirror like finish. Why would you not own a few of these stunning tools? I can't wait to mess around with some rustic woodworking near my campfire.

good deal
Very nice looking ax for essentially the same cost as an extravagant, yet shitty, plastic model that I find in the halloween stores. the handle is a bit tear-drop shaped. didn't expect that and it makes swinging the ax a bit unwieldy, but hey this isn't the real thing so you shouldn't be swinging it around anyway! I will return to strongblade for future weapon-prop desires.
