Need a decorative sword to hang on a wall and never use? Then go to another page, because the Lorei is a fully tempered, battle-ready sword with a nasty, wide cutting blade and a style that is all attitude. Oh, and when you’re done using it for cutting, you can hang it on a wall, too. Because it’s both lethal and beautiful.
This sword is a reproduction of a type of sword used by Phillipine soldiers to fight against Spanish shock troops sent in during the Conquest. Ferdinand Magellen, the legendary Spanish warrior, was taken down by a sword of this style.
But the Lorei is more than just its history. It’s curves remind me of Legolas’s sword in The Lord of The Rings—a thing forte sweeping gracefully into a thicker tip. Add the beautifully decorated, hardwood sheath and you have a sword that could be as much fantasy as history.
The Lorei has a curved grip for increased power in each stroke, something that martial artists have taken note of. Some of the greatest martial artists in the world use these swords to train and cut with. The angles and weight of this sharp weapon make it perfect for slicing through bamboo rolls. Oh, and lest I forget, the beautiful sheath comes with an ingenious metal clip that attaches to most belts and keeps the sword snugly clamped to the scabbard.
So, if you’re looking for a wall hanger, you’ll have to move along. But if you’re looking for a masterfully forged, fully battle-ready short-sword, then stop reading and start buying!
