A good swordsman knows how to keep an opponent from getting too close. Because when an enemy gets too close, your sword becomes useless against him.
A good swordsmen also knows that if your enemy does get too close, you need one of two things: A dagger close at hand, or a good friend to carry your body home.
Fortunately for good swordsmen, Strongblade sells the Mordes Dyadian—a tempered, battle-ready sword and dagger combo that share the same beautifully crafted sheath.
The sword in this combo has a beautifully shaped blade, with subtle curves and a double grooved forte for style and lighter weight. The dagger is nearly identical, if a bit smaller—it is the mini-me, if you will, of the Mordes sword. Both the dagger and the sword have rounded, polished brass guards that seem more like Katana tsubas than European finger-guards. The sanded-hardwood hilts angle downward at the pommel, a trait that allows for far more powerful swings.
But what really takes this battle-ready combo to another universe of class is the double-mount, wooden scabbard that allows both weapons to sit in the same sheath. The scabbard is carved and decorated with braided rope, and allows either or both weapons to be drawn from the same place. And nothing looks cooler than having two blades nested one above the other on your hip or back.
The Mordes Dyadian pair are perfect for fantasy, cosplay, or martial arts cutting. The weapons themselves are based on pre-conquest Filipino blades, and are used by martial artists for bamboo cutting and combat practice.
So, remember, friends don’t let friends into battle without a dagger. Pick up the Mordes Dyadian and teach your opponent a thing or two about distance.
