Product Description
This a stage combat version of the Imperial Battle Sword.
This is a beautifully decorated arming sword. In honor of the battle between King Louis and the Netherlands in 1479, this sword came to be known as the Guingate.
The blade is hand-crafted from EN45 high-carbon steel, with pommel and cross of durable brass. The sword features a bone grip. The grip is beautifully decorated with a triple brass ring in the center and also on the connection to the guard. and decorative high quality leather wrapped on wood scabbard. The scabbard does come with a leather hanger. For tighter fit we recommend looping the hanger throug a belt so the sword will hold closer to the body.
The grip on this sword is 4 inches long and 3/4 inch in diameter which is ideally suited for people with small to medium size hands.
About Stage Combat Swords
Stage combat swords are specially designed to be used in theatrical productions where simulated sword combat is required. These swords feature blades with thicker edges and rounded tips.
IMPORTANT
Although these swords are not sharp, they can still inflict serious bodily damage. These swords should only be used with the guidance of personnel trained in combat reproduction. Even though swords feature a thicker blade, any sword can break if struck hard enough against another metal blade. These swords should only be used for light contact.
A non stage combat version of this sword is also available. Please see related items below.
