The Romans were no one to be trifled with. Anyone that did trifle with them ended up conquered. Except for the Huns (as in, Attila the Hun), but that doesn't count because the Romans were already kind of falling apart by the time the Huns got to them. But that's not really my point, now is it? I actually kind of forgot my point, but this sure is one cool foam gladius.
This is a foam version of the Roman Mainz Gladius. It was one of the first swords used by the Romans and was called Mains Gladius because it had a huge mane of hair around the guard. Alright, I made that up. It's called a Mainz gladius because archeologists found some of these types of roman swords in a place called Mainz, in Germany. But wouldn't it be cool if the swords really did have a mane of hair around them?
This foam sword is extremely durable and very comfortable. It has the typical Mainz waisted shape to it, meaning it gets a little thinner at the center, which, incidentally, is the exact opposite of me.
This Mainz Gladius is part of our Echelon series and is rugged, attractive, and cost effective. It's perfect for Live Action Role Playing, cosplay, Halloween, theatrical use or sparring/weapons training.
