This pirate cutlass is a fairly accurate reproduction of a naval cutlass -- the favored weapon of pirates and pirate hunters in the 17th and 18th centuries. It has a thick foam bellguard that cradles the hand, protecting it from powerful, finger-stinging whacks from other foam swords.
It has a round (thus safe) fiberglass core surrounded by closed-cell foam that prevents shredding. It also features a Kevlar-protected tip for durability and safety.
