About the Luke Skywalker Episode IV "A New Hope" FX Lightsaber...
The year 2007 marks the 30th anniversary of one of the coolest movies ever made. That's right, David Lynch's "Eraserhead"! And that same year, another cult movie came out that really didn't garner the attention and money it deserves. Most people have never heard of it, but the science fiction sleeper "Star Wars," made by a little-known director named George Lucas, is really worth a watch if you haven't seen it. It's about a boy name Luke Skywalker and his dream to "go into Toshi Station to pick up some power converters."

Oh, who am I kidding? Yes, Star Wars: a New Hope, was probably one of the greatest movies ever made (especially in my slightly biased eyes). Confusingly billed as episode IV, even though there had't been any movies before it, this blockbuster ignited an entire genre of entertainment that hasn't slowed down since.

Celebrate the 30th anniversary of this movie with the new Master Replicas Luke Skywalker, a New Hope FX Lightsaber. Yes, this is the first lightsaber ever given to Luke, presented by an aged Obi Wan Kenobi on the sands of Tatooine.

It's quite possibly the most famous lightsaber ever, and the only Luke Skywalker lightsaber available on the retail market today. We're certain this is going to be an extremely popular item.

As far as lightsaber design goes, this is about as gritty a saber as you'll find. Two layers of multitextured steel overlap one another; a slick, flawless style at the top of the saber and a grungier, industrial plate wrapped around the center. Evenly spaced thin, black rectangles stretch vertically around the base of the hilt, similar in style to Darth Vader's Episode V saber. The base of the hilt is peppered with ventilation holes and a hinged hanging ring is bolted among them.

The first Luke Skywalker FX lightsaber is no longer available. It's only a matter of time before this one suffers the same fate. Grab one now before that happens!

About Force FX Lightsabers ...
These Force FX Lightsabers are quite possibly the coolest Star Wars paraphernalia ever created. Yes, They're a little more techy than what we normally feature, but they are still technically swords, and, as I mentioned, are quite cool. Besides, it's our website and we can put whatever we want on it. :P

These items are also alternately known as ligtsabers, ligtsaber, lifesavers, lifesaver, lightsabr and lightsabrs. Now, with that shameless search engine plug out of the way, onward! It's tough to get a gauge on how cool these are without swinging them around a bit. They're fun and quite addicting. When you first turn it on, a bright red glow shoots upward, traveling from the hilt to tip like a real lightsaber. A thoroughly satisfying 'WOOOOM' sound accompanies this 'power-up' sequence (all the sounds are digitally recorded from the actual movie, so you can imagine how authentic they are). When you turn the saber off, the bright blue glow fades away down the blade, traveling from tip to hilt before disappearing. An equally satisfying "SHHHIIIIUUUUWWW" sound accompanies the power-down.

Once you've had your fill of turning the thing on and off, you can start moving the lightsaber in your hand while it's on -- and suddenly, you're a Jedi. With each swing, the FX Lightsaber hums and whines with scary authenticity. A motion sensor embedded somewhere inside the thing can tell when you're moving it, and lets out the appropriate sound. So, when you get your fill of swinging the blade, tap it against something and listen for the "Clash" sound effect. So flippin' cool. In fact, the Force FX Lightsaber features 10 motion sensor controlled sound effects: power-up, power-down, idle, movement (3 sounds) and clash (4 sounds).

The Force FX Lightsabers have a chrome-plated aluminum body, which is heavy enough to make it feel realistic, but light enough to allow vigorous and suitably dashing slashes. The polycarbonate blade is extremely light and astoundingly rugged.

Taking this lightsaber out at night and swinging it is one of the most exhilarating things you can do with a Star Wars prop (assuming you are fully clothed).

Comes with a display stand for those few times this Force FX Saber won't be in your hands.
