The Centurion's gladius is no longer available. Please see our Gladius Legionnaire or Roman Gladius Type III roman sword as possible alternatives.
The classic Roman sword, this sword is the type used by Roman Legionaires in combat and as a personal sidearm. If you watch HBO's "Rome" series, you'll notice that these are the swords carried by the legionaires at all times.
This gladius looks about as lethal as we've seen. It's a great sword for the price conscious consumers. The characteristic "V" tip that this sword was known for is steeper than you see on most other gladius swords (I bet you thought I was going to have to write the plural of gladius there, didn't you? A writer always finds a way out). This acute angle on the tip makes it look even more sharp and deadly. The blade is made from a powerful high-carbon steel, capable of being sharpened to a fine edge should you feel the need, and capable of holding that edge for a long time.
The hilt is of a sturdy, utilitarian style; Two different types of hardwood meet to give the sword a snappy duotone. The dark pommel and guard are polished to a high sheen, and the lighter grip is carved to provide both a great grip and a stylish presentation.
Comes with a leather-wrapped wood scabbard mounted with brass accents and belt loops.
