Alright, I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for Muskateers and Swashbucklers (and yes, I'm aware that swashbuckler was a derogatory term initially and did not have the same meaning that it has today, so please don't send an e-mail pointing this out (said in a nice, smiling, polite way)).
The high boots, the flowing cape, the puffy shirts, and of course, the Cavalier hat.
Truth be told, this is actually closer to a Capitano hat than a cavalier hat (the difference being that Capitano is said with a Spanish or Italian accent). (Editor's note: If our writer continues to make things up, he will be fired). As I was saying, the main difference between a Capitano hat and a Cavalier hat is that the Capitano hat was worn in Spain during the renaissance, and was slightly less rambunctious than the later Cavalier hats. By contrast, the cavalier hats were generally spread over toast and eaten by the wealthy ... wait ... sorry, my mistake, Caviar is spread over toast. Caviar. Now that I think about it, I don't think people actually ate cavalier hats at all. Go figure.
This very high end hat is made from suede velvet and buckram (which, for those unfamiliar with the term, is a very handsome mountain dwelling goat)(editor's note: No,it's not, It's a rugged fabric made from cotton and linen. By the way, is anyone looking for a writing job?). The hat is fully lined and has finished seams on the inside, a sweat band, and eyelets to hold up the five-inch brim. The brim has milliner's wire around the edge for shaping, is individually hand-blocked in the traditional fashion and comes with three 18-inch to 22-inch ostrich feathers: two black and your choice of a Black, Purple, Royal Blue, White, Burgundy, Yellow, Red, or Green. The hat is extremely rugged and will survive humidity and dryness with equal ease.
