Okay folks, this is the deal of deals. Buy Glamdring, the Sword of Gandalf, and you get the official "Gandalf the Gray" scabbard for just $30 (if you've been pricing these, the scabbards normally go for somewhere around $120 or so. Go ahead. Look around. We're pretty smug about this deal. You'll be back.
The sheath is the one worn by Gandalf throughout the first of the three movies, The Fellowship of the Ring. It's a fantastic work of craftsmanship, made of genuine leather, with long leather straps that attach to your belt. The flared collar and studded tip are solid metal with an antiqued finish that gives them a battle-worn-but-still-polished look.
If you're into the bastard sword (and who isn't, really) then you have to appreciate the artistry that went into this weapon.
The sword is one of the most comfortable swords we've held. The luxurious leather grip cradles the hand perfectly and the oversized teardrop pommel provides an excellent counterbalance to the blade. The blade itself is made from 420 stainless steel and features a deep, long fuller that tapers quickly into a sharp point near the tip of the blade. This is an exvellent touch that gives the sword a more vicious look to it. The cross and pommel are finished with an antiqued metal treatment that makes the sword look slightly battle-worn, but polished and bright at the same time. The cross guard swoops downward toward the blade, giving the sword a raptor-like appearance. It's a beautiful sword, perfect for hanging on a conspicuous wall or wearing as part of a costume with the optional
Blue or
White scabbard. Strongblade is having a great sale on the Blue scabbard, so be sure to check it out
here.
The sword comes with a decorative mounting plaque and a certificate of Authenticity verifying that you have purchased an officially licensed Lord of the Rings weapon (this also verifies that the sword has gone through some of the toughest quality controls in the market).
