The Irish and the Scottish have mingled with each other throughout history, casting strong influences each on the other. This hand-forged sword shows that mutual influence.
The downward sloping crosses are common to both Scottish and Irish swords, although the Scots are far better known for it. The brass crosses, however, are more slender than you normally find on a Scottish weapon, and feature a refined pointed cusp at midpoint of the guard. This sense of refinement speaks more of Celtic workmanship than Scottish. The lobed pommel, also of brass, is Viking-like in its design, but is more narrow and shapely.
The grip is made a comfortably ridged leather-over-wood that will keep the sword from slipping and will allow long periods of clenching without causing fatigue. The sword itself is quite light despite the high-carbon blade, and is surprisingly easy to swing.
This is a stunning, unique sword, perfect for carrying on your belt or in your hand for long periods of time. One of our best balanced swords.
Comes with a Leather-wrapped wood sheath which has a brass throat and tip.
