The Bonedancer Scimitar is no longer available. Please see the Firedancer Scmitar as a possible alternative.
Damascus steel was one of strongest in the world. That’s what made their scimitars so deadly (and European knights so frightened). This two-handed war scimitar is forged using Strongblade’s Brimstone Tempering technique, making it one of the toughest blades that we manufacture.
It’s very similar to our fearsome
Two-Handed Battle Scimitar, except that this one is much more authentic and a thousand times more durable. Call it the Battle Scimitar on steroids, and a couple cans of Red Bull. And a hydrolic exoskeleton like the one used by Ripley at the end of the movie Aliens. You get the point.
The blade, as we mentioned, is Brimstone Tempered, which means that it can be bent up to 45 degrees in either direction and will return to its normal shape (please don’t try this on your own – all swords, no matter how well tempered, can break. It’d be a shame for your sword to be the 1 in 10,000 that breaks and slashes out your esophogus). It also means that it will resist breaking, scratching and nicking. Truly a magnificent sword this.
The blade’s shape is much more historically accurate than the Battle Scimitar, and a little longer. It sweeps upward nicely allowing for much cleaner and more efficient slashes. A deadly re-curved tip creates much more lethal wounds on the follow-through and even allows for the ocassional thrusting attack. Did we mention how strong the blade is? What makes this strength even more astonishing is the excellent balance. The sword is a dream to swing, and has become a warehouse favorite for stress-relieving carboard hacking.
The grip on this scimitar is wrapped with two different strips of double-stitched leather, each a different color. The leather provides a much better (and more comfortable) grip than polished wood, and gives the scimitar a much more utilitarian look (translation: it looks like it was made to hack people in two). The curling crossguards are made from a ridiculously thick steel that can take enormous amounts of punishment. The curved pommel is made from a polished steel and gives the weapon an excellent finish.
The Bonewalker comes with a sturdy leather scabbard, Strongblade’s complimentary blade oil, and your very own Persian warrior to show you how to use it. Oh wait… sorry… the warehouse just told me we’re out of Persian warriors. Looks like the sword, scabbard, oil, and a printed history of the scimitar will have to do. Still an unbelievable bargain.
